Our Story
LEL Nuclear, established by director Nick Robinson, initially focused on the inspection and repair of various lifting equipment and accessories. Followings this success, the company soon expanded its capabilities, venturing into mechanical engineering. This strategic shift led to significant milestones, including the completion of their inaugural major project on ‘BEPPS DIF’ located within Sellafield Ltd.
A pivotal moment arrived when LEL Nuclear undertook the comprehensive restoration of a substantial 280-tonne vault radiological shield door, showcasing their growing expertise in intricate engineering tasks. Their portfolio diversified with a further series of complex installations, ranging from seismic restraints to pressurized systems, highlighting their versatility in handling multifaceted challenges.
Following the BEPPS DIF initiative, LEL Nuclear has secured numerous additional contracts at Sellafield, including the installation of new security gates at both the North and Main entrances of the nuclear facility.
